Q: What initially drew you to being a creative director/designer?
A: Growing up, I was obsessed with album covers. I loved the designs on 12” vinyl sleeves and was fascinated by how the art was cropped differently for cassette tapes. When CDs came along, I started making my own covers for myself and friends. I knew then I wanted to create album covers. When I moved to LA, my first creative role was in the music industry, working on projects for Beyoncé and Snoop Dogg.
Q: Winning several Promax awards for interactive design is a significant achievement. Can you share some specific challenges you faced while working on these award-winning projects and how you overcame them?
A: Behind every award won, there are countless individuals involved, each making changes throughout the process. It can be frustrating to watch your vision morph due to input from various executives. Develop a thick skin, as your masterpiece will likely undergo many revisions.
Q: Reflecting on your career, is there a particular project or campaign that stands out as your favorite or most impactful?
A: Definitely the Deadpool films. We constantly brainstormed ideas to expand the campaign. There were so many moving parts, and we kept cranking out different creative pieces. We’re talking a lot of endless nights!
